From the recording By The Light of the Moon

I had the privilege of being asked to write a song for an exhibition at the Getty Museum. The drawings are by Federico Zuccero, a 16th century Italian artist; and they chronicle his brother, Taddeo's life as an artist. Taddeo's struggles and triumphs are so familiar. This story reminds me of how we are all just trying to find our path. There was one drawing of Taddeo sitting in a windowsill and drawing by the light of the moon that really resonated with me. It was during his apprenticeship with a famous artist who was mistreating him, starving him, and not giving him any lamp oil to see by at night.
